New Year Update

I wanted to let you know what I've been working on for the last month. I've been taking a break from designing, to teach at the school I attend and work on actually finishing school. I am teaching Draping and Sloper (patternmaking) during the week. I started this past summer, and teaching has been a really fun experience. I also love the "lost art of draping", working with ALL kinds of body types, and love seeing other people enjoy it too. If you want more information on taking a class, click here. The New York Fashion Academy is located on Ballard Avenue in downtown Ballard.

I have also been commissioned by my forever bandmate and friend Kelly Dale to make him a Middle eastern men's inspired shirt. I garment duplicated a shirt he already had, and made some changes on the pattern, and sewed up a muslin where the real fitting and changes happen. Here's the muslin:

(Kinda Jesus-y, huh?) The finished garment will have plackets at Center front and on sleeves. Mandarin Collar.

That's it for now, More progress soon!

  1. I want to teach! I also really, really want to learn draping. I'm horrible at sewing tho. I have no patience for it.

    The shirt is great!
